STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., March 26, 2026 – Macomb Defenders Rising, a grassroots, Indivisible-affiliated organization, will host a No Kings rally on Saturday, March 28, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the southeast corner of Hall Road and Schoenherr. The event is open to the public.
The rally is part of a nationwide wave of coordinated actions rejecting authoritarianism and demanding that elected officials uphold the Constitution, the rule of law, and the rights of all people.
Locally, the action is being organized in partnership with Rising Voices and For Our Future MI Action Fund, reflecting a growing coalition of organizations working together to defend democratic values and mobilize communities across Michigan.
At a time when democratic institutions are under increasing strain, community members in Macomb County are coming together to take a visible, collective stand. Participants will call for an end to corruption, protection of civil liberties, and policies that prioritize working people over political and corporate power.
“This is about drawing a line,” said Kristy Thomas, event organizer. “We are watching our neighbors be targeted, our rights eroded, and violence normalized under the guise of authority. We refuse to accept it. We are showing up—peacefully, visibly, and together—to defend our community and our democracy.”
Macomb Defenders Rising was formed in response to escalating threats to democratic governance and is committed to building a broad, inclusive movement rooted in courage, accountability, and collective action. The organization mobilizes residents across Macomb County to engage politically, support vulnerable communities, and push for systemic change.
