A Rising Force for Renewal

Born on the day of Donald Trump’s second inauguration, Macomb Defenders Rising (MDR) is a community united by courage, compassion, and the conviction that democracy must be defended at every level.

We’re tired of the status quo, where corporate influence dominates and everyday people are sidelined. MDR was created to resist authoritarianism, reject apathy, and make civic action part of daily life.

We believe activism can be engaging, empowering, and joyful. Together, we’re turning outrage into organized power and despair into collective hope.

Our mission is to build a movement in Macomb County that strengthens community bonds, counters authoritarian threats, and normalizes political participation.
