Where Local Action Meets Global Conscience
Macomb Defenders Rising (MDR) is powered by working groups — independent, people-led subcommittees that focus on key issues of justice and democracy.
Each subcommittee is a space for members to organize deeply, act strategically, and bring their lived experience into the fight.

Mothers 4 Gaza
Mothers 4 Gaza was founded by two mothers who could no longer look away from the devastating images of children and families suffering in Gaza. As mothers, they saw their own children in those faces. What began as a small act of awareness and advocacy soon became a focused mission: scaling direct aid. In a crisis where control and access are limited, Mothers 4 Gaza believes that direct aid is the most immediate and compassionate way to make a tangible impact.
While their name reflects their origins, Mothers 4 Gaza welcomes everyone, regardless of gender or parental status, who refuses to stay silent in the face of injustice. Operating as both a grassroots humanitarian initiative and a proud subcommittee of MDR, they raise urgent funds to help families survive and evacuate, beginning with the Mousa family. Their long-term goal is to create a replicable model, a “Gaza Evacuation Playbook,” to help other Palestinian families find safety and hope.
