The Story Behind Mothers 4 Gaza
Mothers 4 Gaza was born from unbearable empathy from two mothers in Macomb County who could no longer turn away from the images of devastation in Gaza.
They saw their own children reflected in those faces: the same small hands, the same bright eyes, the same longing for safety.
What began as a personal act of witnessing and advocacy quickly became a shared calling. With every headline, every photo, and every plea from families trapped under siege, the need became too great to ignore.
Mothers 4 Gaza emerged from that moment, a movement grounded in maternal love, moral courage, and the conviction that compassion must be actionable.
Today, we are a grassroots fundraising and advocacy group, as well as a subcommittee of Macomb Defenders Rising (MDR). Our work is rooted in a single, unwavering principle: when systems fail, humanity must not.

Our Vision
A Playbook for Saving Lives
Our long-term vision is to build a replicable model for humanitarian response that can help families in Gaza and beyond survive and find safety amid crisis.
This initiative, known as the Gaza Evacuation Playbook, will define best practices for:
- Verifying and vetting families in need
- Creating effective humanitarian appeals
- Navigating travel permissions and asylum processes
- Ensuring transparency and accountability in grassroots aid
By connecting local activism with global relief, we aim to transform compassion into infrastructure and grief into coordinated, effective action.
